VerifyAnAgent publishes the licensing credentials of insurance professionals in a single, consistent record and links each one directly to the official state Department of Insurance that issued it. If an agent has shared their VerifyAnAgent page with you, you can review and independently confirm their credentials here.
Every license card links to the issuing state's own verification portal — the authoritative source.
Each agent is identified by their National Producer Number, searchable on the national registry.
State-issued certificates are displayed alongside each license and kept up to date.
VerifyAnAgent is an independent service that gives licensed insurance professionals a single, professional page where prospective clients can review their credentials. We consolidate information that is already a matter of public record and present it clearly, with direct links back to the official authorities so anyone can confirm it for themselves.
VerifyAnAgent is a private service and is not a government agency. We do not issue, grant, or revoke licenses. The authoritative record for any insurance license is always the issuing state's Department of Insurance, and the authoritative identity registry is the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR).
What we do is make those authoritative records easy to find and review in one place. Every credential we display is accompanied by a link to its official source so you never have to take our word for it — you can verify it directly.
Every page on VerifyAnAgent is built on records you can independently confirm. Here's what underpins each one.
A unique identifier assigned to each licensed producer through the National Insurance Producer Registry. It ties one — and only one — person to their licensing record nationwide.
Insurance licenses are issued and maintained by each state's Department of Insurance. That office is the authoritative source for whether a license is active, expired, or revoked.
For each state an agent is licensed in, the official certificate of licensure is displayed on their page — the same document the state issues to the producer.
Where a state offers an online lookup, each license card includes a "Verify License" button that takes you straight to that state's official portal to confirm the record live.
If an insurance professional has given you their VerifyAnAgent link, here's how to confirm they are who they say they are.
Each licensed agent has a unique address — for example, name.verifyanagent.com. Open the link they shared with you.
You'll see a card for every state the agent is licensed in, listing their NPN or license number, line of authority, and status.
Click "View Certificate" to open the state-appointed certification document issued to the agent for that state.
Click "Verify License" to go directly to the issuing state's official Department of Insurance portal and confirm the record live.
